Government support for your energy bills
The NSW Government has a range of energy concessions to help low-income households, families, seniors, veterans and people with certain medical conditions, to pay their energy bills. There are also programs, available to everyone, that provide discounts on the cost of energy efficient upgrades and appliances.
You may be eligible for multiple benefits, but each concession will have its own application criteria and processes you will need to follow. Read each concession carefully to ensure your application is accurate.
Energy rebates
Low-income household rebate (Embedded networks)
This $313.50 rebate per financial year is available to customers that live in a strata scheme, retirement village and other residential communities.
Seniors energy rebate
This $200 rebate helps self-funded retirees pay their bills. You may be eligible if you hold a current Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.
Family energy rebate
This rebate is up to $180 per household, or $198 per embedded network household per financial year and is available if your Family Tax Benefit has been finalised.
