Relocate infrastructure
Situations may arise where network assets and infrastructure need to be removed or relocated to reduce their impact or allow the development of adjoining land.
Reasons for moving or removing network assets
There are a number of situations where network assets may have to be removed or relocated. They include:
- To make way for new or modified infrastructure in a development
- To provide safety clearances as a result of a changed environment
- Changed property boundaries
- To maintain appropriate lighting levels due to a changed environment
- Asset redundancy
Once we have accepted your application, an offer for a standard connection will be provided. Assets may be relocated or removed by developers who fund and arrange for the design and construction works to be undertaken by authorised ASPs under the contestable works framework.

Relinquishing easements
The removal of assets within a registered easement on private property does not guarantee the easement will also be relinquished.
A separate commercial agreement is required for easements to be relinquished. This is subject to the assessment of the network and monetary values of the easement to us. For more information, refer to our property tenure requirements section of our Land Interest Guidelines for Network Connection Works document.
