We’re committed to assessing the environmental, social and governance impacts of our operations and their influence on key stakeholders, and for the past six years we have participated in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmarking (GRESB) Infrastructure Asset Assessment, attaining a top, five-star rating for the last five consecutive years.
In the 2024 and 2025 GRESB Assessment, we achieved a five-star rating and scored 98 out of 100 for our environmental, social and governance performance. By using this international benchmark, we can deliver a more sustainable business and continuously test our performance against utilities across the world.

We are proud to be the first known electricity distribution network, to access sustainability-linked financing in Australia. Since 2022, we have linked our loan financing to sustainability targets, reinforcing our commitment to driving enhanced sustainability performance and outcomes.
The $3 billion pricing is tied to achieving agreed sustainability performance targets, focused on four areas, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction, landfill waste diversion, net habitat gain and mental health and wellbeing.
We have since issued an additional $1 billion in sustainable loans targeting the Asian market.
